Purpose:

The purpose of the ministry team is to enhance and develop supportive ministries of St. Peter's /St. Victor's Chapels. Moreover, the commission should establish a strong Catholic presence in the areas of Cripple Creek and Victor.

The ministry team will review Liturgy, Sacraments, Social Justice, Evangelization, Faith Formation, Building and Grounds, Stewardship (time, talent, and treasure), and Pastoral Care in St. Peter/ St. Victor Chapels.

There are three basic reasons for the St. Peter's/St. Victor's Chapel ministry team.

  • The first reason is to build up the life of the Church and its ministry. The Church is the body of Christ. This responsibility calls for sensitive care and careful discernment regarding what is beneficial, and is to be exercised in a humble and loving way.
      • Provide consistent support to the pastor, pastoral council, staff, and parishioners of Teller County Catholic Community. The effectiveness and quality of parish life depends in large part upon a positive and life giving attitude in the parish. Additionally, changing social patterns, demographic transitions, diminishing number of members of the Church, and long range planning are key issues that need to be addressed by the ministry team.
          • Cultivate a regular channel of communication that supports an open, affirmative and creative relationship between the pastor, congregation, pastoral/finance council, and the local community of Teller County. The Chapel Ministry team should not become a crises management or grievance committee. Acceptance, trust, and confidentiality are the foundations of an effective team.

            Quarterly Meetings:

The chair will call regular meetings to convene after the 11:45 Sunday Mass. Regular meetings are essential for maintaining relationships at an optimal level. All meetings will begin and conclude with prayer. A meeting time should be set prior to ending the current meeting. No meeting shall exceed two hours.
